Lancashire, Apple and Sage Turnovers
300 g puff pastry
100 g Lancashire cheese; crumbled
100 g green dessert apples; chopped
1 tablespoon fresh sage; chopped
1 egg; beaten
Preheat oven to 200C/400F/ Gas 6. Roll out pastry and cut out four 18 cm (7 inch) circles.
Mix together the Lancashire cheese, apple and sage. Place a quarter of the mix in the centre of each pastry circle. Brush water around the edge of each circle, fold in half and seal. Prick pastry, brush with beaten egg. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
