Schweinfleisch mit Bier

1 fresh pork shoulder (skinned).
2 bottles of beer
2 onions, sliced
2 cans of sliced carrots, including juice
1 large turnip, peeled and chopped
2 cloves
1 tablespoon sugar
1 heel of bread
1 big can of sauerkraut
teaspoon tsp. pepper all over top
4 cups of water
2 big potatoes, cut up

Place meat and water in a big pan and bring to a boil. Cook until half the water has evaporated. Add beer and vegetables (except sauerkraut) and cloves and pepper (salt to taste), and cook until meat is tender. Add sauerkraut including juice and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.

NOTE:
You can use fresh vegetables instead of canned.
