Crockpot Honey Ribs

2 lbs. extra lean back ribs
1 can (10 and 1/2 oz.) condensed beef consomme (Beef broth works fine)
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsps. maple syrup
2 Tbsps. honey
2Tbsps. soy sauce
2 Tbsps. Barbecue sauce (your own or purchased)
1/2 tsp. dry mustard

If ribs are fatty, place under broiler and broil for 15 to 20 minutes; drain well. Otherwise, wash ribs and pat dry. Cut ribs into single serving size. Combine all remaining ingredients and place in crockpot, stirring to mix. Add ribs. Cover and cook on Low setting for 6 to 8 hours or on High setting for 3 to 4 hours.

NOTE:
I made these in a 4-qt. Nesco oven, baking them at 350*F for the same amount of time and they were fine.
