Oven Barbecue Spareribs

4 pounds pork spareribs
1 Tablespoon butter or margarine
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup catsup
1/3 cup chili sauce
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons onion, chopped
1 Tablespoon prepared mustard
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon salt
dash Louisiana hot sauce
3 lemon slices, thin

Cut ribs into serving size pieces. In large sauce pan, cover ribs with salted water and simmer until nearly tender, about 1 hour. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter; add garlic and cook 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Drain ribs and place in a shallow pan. Pour boiling sauce over the ribs.

Bake in 350 F open for 20 minutes, basting often with sauce.

Makes 4 servings.
