Easy Rolls
1/2 cup boiling water
1 package dry yeast
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup warm water
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg, well beaten (2 if small)
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour, unbleached
Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt. disolve yeast in warm water. Add to cooled sugar mixture. Add egg. Blend in flour. Leave at room temperture for 20 minutes. Store in refrigerator in greased bowl covered with wax papper and plate. Before baking, let rise 1 to 1 1/2 hours. After shapping, let double in size. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 8 to 10 minutes or until done. Rolls should be mixed with electric mixer.
