Granny Rolls
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cups warm milk
1/4 cup warm water
2 teaspoons salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 cup shortening, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
5-7 cups all purpose flour
Disolve sugar in warm water. Add dry yeast. Set aside.
Mix remaining ingredients, using quantity of flour necessary to make stiff dough. Add sugar mixture and let dough set in a warm place at least 2 hours or until doubled in size. Knead throughly and shape into favorite roll size. Let rise 1/2 hour. Bake in preheated 400 degree F. oven until golden brown.
