Lingonberry Sauce (Lingonsylt)


Large Recipe (4 quarts)
4 qt. lingonberries
2 cup water
3 lb. sugar

Small Recipe (1 pint)
1 pt. lingonberries
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar

Pour off liquid on lingonberries. Pick over berries carefully. Place lingonberries in saucepan. Add water. Cover saucepan tightly and bring to boiling point. Cook slowly 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Add sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved and sauce is cold.

Yield: Large recipe 4 quarts sauce. Small recipe, 1 pint sauce.
