Taratur Bi Tahini (Tahini Sauce)


The proportions are approximate; adjust them according to the thickness you require.

1/2 cup tahini
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 - 1/2 cup water
1 tsp. Salt
2 cloves garlic, crushed

Place crushed garlic and salt in a mixing bowl. Add the tahini and mix well. Add the lemon juice and water alternately and stir until smooth. You will notice that the water thickens the paste and the lemon juice thins it. Chill. Taratur bi Tahini can be served as a dressing for salads, a bread dip, a sauce for veggies or Falafel and with lamb or fish dishes.
