KASUF
The leader of the Abydonians, a peaceful race of desert nomads. Kasuf has two children: Sha're and Skaara (and is thus Daniel Jackson's father-in-law). With help from the first Stargate team from Earth, Kasuf led his people to freedom by rebelling against the Goa'uld System Lord Ra, whom his people believed to be an evil god.

One year later, Kasuf's children were both abducted by the System Lord Apophis. Sha're was possessed by the queen of Apophis, Amonet, and Skaara was implanted with Klorel, the son of Apophis.

Kasuf is a wise and courageous leader, whose strong loyalties lie with his family and with his people. When the powerful Goa'uld Anubis attacked Abydos in search of the Eye of Ra, Kasuf led the village into hiding while the young men joined SG-1 in the hopeless defense of the planet. Abydos was annihilated by Anubis' new super-weapon, but its people -- including Kasuf, presumably -- were helped by Oma Desala to ascend beyond their physical bodies to a higher plane of existence.
