Starting August 26th, Angelina Jolie will once again will once again be transformed into Lara Croft in an effort to save both the world and the Tomb Raider franchise. Lara Croft and the Cradle of Life (title tentative) kicks off production in England, Africa, and possibly China, if the Chinese government will allow it. A number of underwater scenes will now be shot in Greece.

This time, it's East meets West as Lara squares off against a Chinese crime syndicate led by a villainous Chinaman named Chen Lo. Lo is said to be a savvy businessman, an urbane entrepreneur, and a cold-blooded killer. He'll also probably be wielding some devastating kung fu for a likely fisticuffs showdown with Lara.
Behind the camera will be Dutch director Jan de Bont, the man responsible for such films as Speed 2: Cruise Control and The Haunting. He's been the rumoured favourite for a while now, so it looks like the job's in the bag for him.
Jolie's involvement with the project was contingent upon two things: one, that the producers get a much better script than the first time around; and two, the more recent demand that special day-care facilities be provided for her and husband Billy Bob Thornton's 9-month-old Cambodian adoptee, Maddox

Tomb Raider On The GameBoy Advance!!!

A new Tomb Raider game is being developed exclusively for the Game Boy Advance.
Ubi Soft has signed a deal with Eidos to produce and release Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Prophecy.
The game will be released at Christmas. Ubi Soft executive Alain Corre said: "Lara Croft is one of the strongest and most attractive personalities in the video game world.
"I have full confidence in our creation teams' ability to produce one of the best action games available for the Game Boy Advance."

Angelina Jolie gets her way in Tomb Raider 2

Angelina Jolie has signed up for a sequel to Tomb Raider because she'll be able to try out the latest underwater technology and train with circus troupe Cirque Du Soleil. The actress played Lara Croft in the 2001 action adventure and had reservations about enhancements that made her seem more curvy, so she's stipulating that the sequel will be an underwater adventure that will see her character looking more athletic. She says, "I want to be much, much stronger. I would love to train with Cirque Du Soleil. Lara Croft should be more athletic and cut. "In the beginning of the first movie, we added padding to make me one cup size bigger. Also, I put on about 20 pounds for the role. And then, there were days when I was on my period that I was that much bigger. "I'd also like to go underwater in the next movie. I'm just curious about what gadgets can be used underwater - it's like James Bond.

Tomb Raider 2 movie shoots in May!

Paramount Pictures Lara Croft Tomb Raider sequel will commence principal photography at Pinewood Studios in May 2002 with Angelina Jolie on-board as British aristocrat Lara Croft. Jolie, currently shooting the Martin Campbell helmed refugee drama Beyond Borders in Thailand, agreed to two further Lara Croft movies despite warning producers that the screenplay must fare better than the original for her to resume her role. Two script writers have tendered screenplays to producers.

If all goes well the Tomb Raider sequel will be in Theatres across the world from June 2003.

Tomb Raider 7 and Second Movie in 2003...

During the presentation of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness on March 21th, Core Design's Operations Director Adrian Smith had a talk with the many reporters there. In answer to a journalist's question, Smith noted that Core has two teams working on Tomb Raider products, with one team finishing The Angel of Darkness, while the other team is building the next instalment, which the executives said would be for the 2003 holiday season. The plans call for four TR games to be evolved from a book that Core has written to map out the evolution of the franchise, with The Angel of Darkness being the first. The executives also stated that the Tomb Raider movie sequel is in the works, again in partnership with Paramount Pictures, and it's set for a June 2003 release to theatres. Angelina Jolie will again star as the buxom voyager. Aside from characters common to each, they also noted that The Angel of Darkness and the second movie won't share storylines.

Donated by Eidos Interactive, the world exclusive sale runs from 26^th April and will last for 10 days. All proceeds from the auction will go to UNICEF, United Nations Children’s Fund.

On April 5th, Paramount's Kings Island opened the doors to there new attraction: TOMB RAIDER: The Ride at 9:15 a.m. for those people how participated in the online auction through eBay. The opening of the ride was done in a Lara Croft style with new Lara model Jill de Jong.
